Kerala Fish Curry in Coconut Milk-Thrisoor Style

Pavakka Thoran/Bitter gourd Thoran


Thoran is a dry crunchy dish. Thoran can be prepared using any one of the vegetables.

Here’s today’s recipe kerala fish curry with lemon juice. The reason why I like fish is it’s very rich in protein, no cholesterol and won’t feel heavy. When there’s an option for fish and chicken I would always prefer fish. I am trying out different varieties of fish dishes. In normal fish curry we are using gambooge but it’s rare to get so I tried a different recipe using lemon juice instead of gambooge. I think you will love it.

Nadan Mathy Mango Curry – Alappuzha Style


This is typical Central Kerala style fish curry in which mangoes are used instead of ‘kudampuli(gamboges)’. Sardines belong to the oily fish category. They are rich in Omega-3 fatty acid, which lowers the bad cholesterol level in the blood. So, eating sardines are good for the heart. This curry is very tasty and commonly served with rice.

Kerala Veg Grill


Grilling vegetables is easy. The fact that more people don’t do it is the strange thing. The general rule is to cut the vegetable into pieces that will cook quickly and evenly. All pieces should be of consistent thickness and no more than about ¾ to 1 inch thick. Do not over cook and you’ll have vegetables better than you thought possible.
