Kovakka thoran



kovakka                                -- 1 cup
Onion                                  --1nos
Green chilly                          --2 nos
Coconut oil                           --1tsp
Kaduku/mustard seeds         --1/2tsp
Curry leaves                         --a spring
Dried red chilli                         2 nos
For grinding:
Coconut                              --1/4(grated coconut)
Jeera/cumin seed                 --1/4tsp
Turmeric powder                 --1/2tsp

Method:
Wash the kovakka well in running water. Trim the edges and cut rice round pieces
Heat oil in the pan add mustard seeds when it crackles add curry leaves, dried red chilly.
Add the chopped onion and stir.
Add the kovakka and green chilly salt.
Fry for 5 mins then cook covered for about 15 minutes, keeping the stove at low heat
And the ground coconut mixture and let it boil for 3 mins.
